DARK BOMBASTIC EVENING este deja un eveniment recunoscut atat in tara cat si in afara iar noua PLATFORMA www.darkbombasticevening.com, lansata in urma cu cateva zile, va putea fi liantul intre cei ce vor dori sa se documenteze despre ce a fost anul trecut si ce va urma sa fie in decembrie 2010! Aici se pot gasi fotografii, cronici, inregistrari video si un forum dedicat discutiilor de orice tip!
In zilele urmatoare vor fi anuntate cele 10 trupe participante, unele dintre ele in premiera pentru Romania, altele aduse exclusiv de DonisArt in anii precedenti!

DonisArt is inviting you to DARK BOMBASTIC EVENING 2nd EDITION! The event will take place on the 10th and 11th of December 2010.
The elegant Kultuehaus and The Silver Church Club based in Bucharest will act as hosts to those who wish to:
- see the participant bands at work
- meet up with friends that they made last year
- buy new merchandise and musical accessories.
- take pictures, chat and hang out with the performers
- live unique moments among a select crowd.
- participate in the after parties supported by well known DJ-s.
DARK BOMBASTIC EVENING is already a well known event within our country but also across the borders. The new PLATFORM www.darkbombasticevening.com, launched only a few days ago, could become the connection between those who wish to document themselves about last year’s concert and what is yet to come in December 2010! You can find here photos, reviews, video footage and a forum where you can discuss everything!
In the following days the names of the 10 bands participating will be issued to the public, some of them are a first for Romania, while some were brought exclusively by DonisArt in the past.

Ataraxia (ITA)

ATARAXIA este un grup de artisti italieni care exploreaza si creeaza muzica, poezie si momente teatrale, dedicandu-si viata in totalitate artei. Acesti muzicieni “trubaduri” se inspira nu numai din calatoriile lor “geografice” ci si din cele interioare ce poarta amprenta grea a secolelor trecute. ATARAXIA pare a fi o rascruce intre culturile Mediteraneene si Celtice, creand o mixtura ciudata dintre sacru si profan, divin si experimental, contemporan si muzica veche. Italienii se inspira de multe ori din legendele Europene si miturile Grecesti si Latine. Contemplarea, experientele onirice, atmosfera elegiaca si miscarile rituale, toate sadite in misterioasa gradina a Psihicului si Dorintei definesc muzica trupei. La fel si ciudatele texturi de note combinate romantic cu ecouri de sound clasic. Versurile au fost scrise de-a lungul istoriei trupei in multe limbi, fie vechi, fie contemporane, aducandu-se astfel la iveala comorile si revelatiile ascunse de fiecare limba in parte.
La trei ani dupa ultimul lor album de studio, Ataraxia s-a intors cu un minunat nou album! Llyr-ul este instrumentul muzical sacru al Barzilor si a poetiilor lirici din Grecia. Llyr reprezinta o noua poveste, inspirata de miturile pagane, de celebrari feminine ale Mamei Natura si de traditii estice si celtice. Ataraxia si carismatica lor vocalista, Francesca Nicoli, au creat un nou si neobisnuit gen de muzica: un dark-folk cosmogonic tinzand catre Frumusetea Absoluta.
Cele mai interesante ritualuri “live” ale trupei ATARAXIA au loc intr-o ambianta naturala sau arhitecturala speciala – acolo unde magia curge la fel ca intr-o drama primordiala. Pietrele si apa ne vorbesc. In timpul live-show-urilor trupa exploreaza si calatoreste impreuna cu publicul spre regate din alte vremuri. Inainteaza, de altfel, pe o poteca a carei origini dateaza din timpuri stravechi. Spiritele Imemoriale inca ne vorbesc.
Discografie, turnee si concerte
Ataraxia a lansat 20 de albume si a sustinut aproape 250 de concerte in Europa si America. In curand vor ajunge in China.
SHOW-UL DIN BUCURESTI
Prima parte – “LLYR” – fantasy, folk, ethereal
Protagonistul acestei balade semnate ATARAXIA, Siqillat, este un spirit al luminii, un tamaduitor si un saman care poate lua infatisari diferite si poate calatori in timp din toate epocile si pana in zilele noastre. Traversand diferite timpuri (ca si cal nobil, veche padure, munte urias, toba sacra, preoteasa, abis adanc, sursa sacra sau ca vant) si traind diferite experiente in locuri indepartate geografic si cu traditii si credinte foarte diferite, samanul nostru a contiuat sa-si urmeze calea, pastrandu-si faclia arzand si avand credinta intr-o noua constiinta care poate balansa legile cosmosului – prin muzica si prin cantat, caci vocile sunt facute pentru a celebra, a vindeca.
Ataraxia canta la urmatoarele instrumente, pe acest album: chitara clasica, chitarra battente, clape, flaut, gemelan, daf, tobe, santoor, tblas, zard si clopot. Vocalizele feminine sunt intretaiate cateodata de cele masculine.
A doua parte – “Paris Spleen” – dark cabaret featuring Ataraxia, Madame Bistouri si Paul Patchy
Inspiratia sta ascunsa in poezie, in special cea care transforma cea mai incurcata si chinuita realitate (cea a ciudatilor, a bufonilor, a cantaretilor abulanti sau a nefericitilor) intr-un fel revelatie lirica. Prin acest show am incercat sa exploram o perioada si un mediu care ni s-a parut intotdeauna captivant: cea a “cabaretelor macabre” si a parcurilor de distractie de la inceputul secolului XX din Paris. Cine a reusit oare, mai bine ca Baudelaire sa cuprinda aceasta atmosfera ciudata in versurile sale? Ne-am inspirat din „Spleen-ul Parisului” si am imprumutat chiar niste versuri pentru piesele noastre. Apoi ne-am documentat temeinic despre cabaretele fantoma de pe Boulevard de Clichy. Astfel am descoperit o lume nocturna apasatoare si tot odata stralucind in culori aspre, o dimensiune distorsionata unde fiecare masca, drama, gluma sau lacrima se transforma subit intr-o reprezentare groteasca si amplificata a vietii. Barbati, caini, parfumuri exotice, acrobati decazuti, frumoase cu ochii verzi, vanzatori de nori, toti fac parte dintr-o lume aparent divina ascunsa dupa o cortina rupta. Identificandu-ne cu artistii din acea perioada, vom avea placerea sa cantam o colectie de cantece care ar fi putut fi interpretate si la inceputul secolului XX intr-un fel de Cabaret Ceresc. Gratie bandoneon-urilor, musetelor, tobelor, tambalului si vocii dramatice a lui Madame Bistouri, il vom canta pe Baudelaire care, la randul lui, a omagiat, in trecut, artistii neprivilegiati de pe Montmartre. Acest show exploreaza trasaturile celor patru muzicieni care vor aduce inapoi la viata grotescul, ciudatul si irelevantul din “Le Spleen de Paris”.
ATARAXIA are a few Italian artists who explore and create music, poetry and theatre and who dedicated their lives to art. They are travelling musicians inspired by their geographical and inner voyages in places still owning the charge of centuries. They feel to be like crossroads among the Mediterranean and Celtic cultures and they create an unusual mix of sacred and profane, heavenly and experimental, contemporary and early music. They make researches into European legends, Greek and Latin myths. Contemplation, dream experiences, elegiac atmospheres, ritual movements float in the mysterious garden of Psyche and Desire where peculiar textures of notes meet the embracing echo of classic sounds. Their lyrics have been written in many ancient and contemporary languages as they like to bring to surface the hidden treasures and revelations that each language owns.
Three years after the last studio album, Ataraxia is back with a beautiful new album! Llyr is the name of the sacred musical instrument of the Bards and the Greek lyrical poets. Llyr is a new story inspired by pagan myths, feminine celebrations of Mother Nature, celtic and eastern traditions… Ataraxia and her charismatic singer, Francesca Nicoli, have created their peculiar genre of music: a cosmogonic dark-folk praying for Beauty.
ATARAXIA best performances take place in fascinating natural or architectural environments where magic flows as it happened in the primordial drama. The stones and the water speak to us.
During our live-acts we explore and travel with our listeners in primeval kingdoms.
We walk along a path that finds its origins in very far times. The Ancient Spirits are still speaking .

Ist part – “LLYR” – fantasy, folk, ethereal
Siqillat, the protagonist of this new musical voyage of ATARAXIA is a spirit of light, a healer and a shaman who has taken different forms and bodies travelling all over the ages till nowadays. Crossing different times (as noble horse, a centuries-old forest, a huge mountain, a sacred drum, a prophetess, a deep abyss, a holy source, a wind), living experiences in places very far the ones from the others with different traditions and beliefs, our shaman, kept on following his path keeping his flame alight, always believing that an awakening, a new awareness in balance with the laws of cosmos can be still achieved. Through music as well and through singing, as voice is made to celebrate, to heal…
Ataraxia, in this voyage, play the following instruments: classical guitar, chitarra battente, keyboards, flute, gamelan, daf, frame drums, santoor, tablas, zard and bells. Female vocals are sometimes accompanied by male vocals.
II part – “Paris Spleen” – dark cabaret featuring Ataraxia, Madame Bistouri and Paul Patchy
We are inspired by poetry, mainly the one that transforms the most turbid and tormented reality, the one of the wretches, the freaks, the buskers and the buffoons in a sort of lyrical revelation. With this show started exploring an historical period and environment that have always appealed to us : the ‘cabarets macabres’ and fun fairs of the beginning of the XXth century in Paris. And who, better than Baudelaire, has managed to portray that peculiar universe within his verses ? “The spleen of Paris” has been our guide and some of its lines have become the lyrics of our songs. Carrying out an accurate research about the ‘ghost cabarets’ that animated the nights of Boulevard de Clichy, we disappeared into a nocturnal environment both gloomy and sparkling of innatural colours, a distorted dimension where each mask, drama, jest and tear turned into a grotesque and amplified representation of life. Men, dogs, exotic perfumes, acrobats in decay, green-eyed enchantresses, cloud sellers, heavenly places come into existence behind the threadbare fabric of a torn curtain rather than on the unnailed planks of a worm-eaten stage. Identifying ourselves with the artists of that time, we will perform a collection of songs that could have been played at the beginning of the xxth century in the Cabaret of Heaven rather than in the Tavern of Crooks.
Thanks to the sound of bandonéons, musettes, big-drums and cymbals and the dramatic voice of Mme Bistouri, we will sing Baudelaire who, in his turn, had sung Paris of the imaginative and under-privileged artists of Montmartre. This music show features four musicians and a performer who bring back to life the grotesque, bitter and irriverent words of “Le Spleen de Paris”.

Sambata, 12 decembrie 2009… Romania, Bucuresti, The Silver Church Club… incepand cu ora 7 pm… 550 persoane din peste 25 de tari… pe scena artisti din Germania, Luxemburg, Italia, Suedia, Danemarca: TRIORE, CASCADEUR, :OF THE WAND AND THE MOON: (Kim Larsen), TRIARII, ROME, ORDO ROSARIUS EQUILIBRIO, SPIRITUAL FRONT… pana spre dimineata Afterparty… acestea au fost elementele ce descriu prima editie din DARK BOMBASTIC EVENING, un eveniment ce a castigat locul trei la “Cel mai tare festival muzical din 2009!” in urma voturilor acordate de cititorii metropotam.ro. Un succes incontestabil, un mod unic de a petrece o noapte de vis!

Statement: THE DARK BOMBASTIC EVENING PLATFORM
Saturday, the 12th of December 2009…Romania, Bucharest, The Silver Church Club, starting 7 p.m…550 people from over 25 countries….on stage artists from Germany, Luxemburg, Italy, Sweden, Denmark: TRIORE, CASCADEUR, :OF THE WAND AND THE MOON: (Kim Larsen), TRIARII, ROME, ORDO ROSARIO EQUILIBRIO, SPIRITUAL FRONT….until the early hours of the morning the After party… this were the elements best describing the first edition of DARK BOMBASTIC EVENING. This event won 3rd place in the “Hottest music festival in 2009” competition due to the votes of the readers of metropotam.ro. A clear success and an unique way to spend a dreamy evening!
Congratulations and support statements followed, but also recommendations, suggestions and criticism.
After almost four months since the event, DonisArt has the pleasure of announcing the launching of the official PLATFORM www.darkbombasticevening.com

Desiderii Marginis (SWE)

Desiderii Marginis a luat naştere în anul 1993 în Mjölby, Suedia, ca proiect solo a lui Johan Levin. Iniţial, ideea era doar de a lansa pe piaţă câteva materiale (casete) care nu se încadrau în repertoriul trupei sale de bază din aceea perioadă – “The wounded meadow”. Primele trei casete “Consecrare”, “Via Peregrinus” şi “Triptych” conţineau materiale compus între 1992-1993 şi erau limitate la câteva ediţii modeste.
Unele dintre aceste piese, au aparut mai apoi pe albumul de debut “Songs over ruins”, lansat de Cold Meat Industry. Mai târziu, aceste casete au fost re-editate pe CD în 2009 – anume pe albumul “Years Lend a Golden Charm”. De la primi paşii timizi, trupa s-a dezvoltat şi astfel a ajuns să aibă la activ şase albume şi numeroase compilaţii. Cu fiece nouă “ofrandă” Johan Levin pătrunde din ce în ce mai adânc în abisurile creativităţii. Prin urmare, continuă să se aventureze mai departe în întunecimea disperării şi solitudinii, undeva în umbrele vibrante ale minţii omeneşti.
Încă de la debut, Desiderii Marginis a reuşit cu fiecare nouă apariţie discografică să-şi reinventeze sound-ul distinctiv.
Desiderii Marginis was formed in 1993 in Mjölby, Sweden by Johan Levin as a solo-project.
The intention was initialy to release just a few tapes with material that failed to fit into the repertoire of his main band at the time – “The wounded meadow”. The first three tapes
“Consecrare”, “Via Peregrinus” and “Triptych”, consisted of material composed 1992-1993 and were limited to a modest handfull. Some of these songs later appeared in new versions
on the debut album Songs over ruins, released on Cold Meat Industry. These tapes were re-released on cd in 2009 on the ‘Years Lend a Golden Charm’ album. Since the first stumbling
steps six albums and numerous compilations have seen the light of day. With every new offering Johan Levin has dug deeper than before within the creative depths and so ventured
ever further into the darklands of dispair and solitude, deeper into the vibrant shadows of the human mind. Since the very debute in 1993, Desiderii Marginis has, with every new release, refined and reinvented the trademark sound.
Arcana (SWE)

ARCANA a creat in ultimii 15 ani muzica ce atrage lume de pe intreg mapamondul. Peter Bjärgö, geniul din spatele acestui proiect, a fost mereu interesat de explorarea noilor instrumente si noului ritm. ARCANA a inceput initial ca o muzica relariv calma, descrisa de lume ca fiind o calatorie romantica printre vise medievale. Dar Peter nu a vrut sa ramana acolo, a vrut sa treaca peste si sa gaseasca noi cai pe care sa le strabata. Calea strabatuta de muzica ne-a purtat prin campuri marete de o intensa frumusete, prin misterioasa lume a desertului oriental si pana pe culmile dealurilor unde putem vedea noaptea preschimbandu-se in zi.
Spre sfarsitul anului 2009, ARCANA a devenit o trupa alcatuita din 4 membri, cand Stefan Eriksson a plecat. Acum trupa este formata din Peter Bjärgö, Ann-Mari Thim, Ia Bjärgö si Mattias Borgh. Dar cand Arcana vor ajunge in Bucuresti, vor fi sapte membri pe scena. Deoarece Arcana a facut un pas inainte in ceea ce priveste prestatiile live si si-a adus prietenii Johan Levin (Desiderii Marginis), Núria Luis si Sergio Gamez Martinez (Narsilion) cu ei pe scena. Aici, Peter Bjärgö va canta la chitara, darabuka si voce, Ann-Mari Thim si Ia Bjärgö vor canta si performa la intrumentele aditionale, Mattias Borgh percutie, Núria Luis va canta la vioara, Sergio Gamez Martinez la clape, Johan Levin la Horns si alte instrumente suplimentare.
ARCANA has for the last 15 years been doing music that attracts people all over the world. Peter Bjärgö, the mastermind behind the project, has always been interested in exploring new instruments and new rhythm. Arcana once started as calm music that people would describe as a romantic voyage through medieval dreams. But Peter didn’t want to stay there, he wanted to move on and find new paths to walk upon. The path the music have walked upon has taken us through majestic fields of powerful beauty, through the mysterious world of the oriental desert and up to the hills where we can see the night turns to day.
In late 2009 Arcana became a four-piece band when Stefan Eriksson left. The band now contains of Peter Bjärgö, Ann-Mari Thim, Ia Bjärgö and Mattias Borgh. But when Arcana arrive in Bucharest there are seven members on stage. Because Arcana has moved one step forward when it comes to live performances and they have brought their friends Johan Levin (Desiderii Marginis), Núria Luis and Sergio Gamez Martinez (Narsilion) with them on stage. On stage Peter Bjärgö will play guitar, darabuka and sing, Ann-Mari Thim and Ia Bjärgö will sing and play additional instruments, Mattias Borgh percussion, Núria Luis will play violin, Sergio Gamez Martinez will play keyboard, Johan Levin will play horns and other additional instruments.
