NAEVUS @ DARK BOMBASTIC EVENING 2nd EDITION

COMUNICAT: NAEVUS @ DARK BOMBASTIC EVENING 2nd EDITION, 11 DECEMBRIE 2010-11-15
Formula intreaga a trupei Naevus nu va aparea pe scena Dark Bombastic Evening 2nd Edition. Nu vor mai exista prestatii live ale trupei, Naevus incetandu-si existenta. Ultimele materiale discografice, CD si vinil, vor aparea in 2011.
Cu toate acestea, Lloyd James, vocalul si personajul principal din spatele muzicii Naevus, va lua parte la eveniment, prezentandu-se cu un set special de piese Naevus, cantate acustic, impreuna cu o introducere in noul sau material discografic, The Division of Labour, album solo ce urmeaza sa fie lansat. Acest concert va marca un important moment de tranzitie si va pune in valoare partea acustica, intima a muzicii Naevus, in acelasi timp indicand directia in care Lloyd James isi va continua cariera solo.

The full band line-up of Naevus will now NOT be appearing at the Dark Bombastic Evening 2nd Edition. There will be no further live appearances by this band, and Naevus has now effectively ceased to exist. The final vinyl and CD releases by Naevus will follow in 2011.
However, Lloyd James, the singer and principal songwriter of Naevus, will present instead a special set of acoustic versions of classic Naevus songs, along with a preview of new material that will appear on his forthcoming solo album, The Division of Labour. This performance will mark an important moment of transition and will showcase the intimate, acoustic side of Naevus material as well as indicating the future direction that Lloyd James will be pursuing in his solo career.

Naevus s-a infiintat în Londra în anul 1998 de către Lloyd James şi Joanne Owen. Albumul de debut al trupei, Truffles of Love (relansat de curând într-o versiune extinsă şi remasterizată) a apărut pe piaţă în 1999, urmat de Soil în 2001.
Albumul lor cel mai apreciat (Behaviour, 2002) a marcat un moment de regăsire inspiraţională – acoperind o gamă largă de sound-uri variind de la părţi epice greoaie şi acustice introspective la soundul organic şi modernist pentru care Naevus este cunoscut astăzi. 2004 a fost anul lansării apreciatului Perfection is a Process, urmat în 2007 de Silent Life, album care explora căi bătătorite anterior însă într-o manieră mult mai sigură, puternică, condensată pe fiecare piesă în parte, care înglobau însuşi energia apariţiilor lor live.
Lansat în 2008, Relatively Close to the Sea, îi găseşte pe Lloyd (voce, chitară acustică, clape) şi pe Joanne (bass, acordeon, clape) cooptând noi membri – pe John Murphy (Knifeladder, Shining Vril) la tobe, Greg Ferrari (Womb) la chiară electrică, Joanna Quail (SonVer) la violoncel, Matt Howden (Sieben) la vioară şi Arthur Shaw (Cutty Sark) la clape. Piese de interes de pe album sunt considerate „Dented Mess”, care revine la stilul pop existenţialist de la Truffles of Love şi „The German”, o „deviaţie” influenţată de baladele „criminale” ala Schlager. Piesa de referinţă de pe album are 18 minute şi se numeşte „Go Grow” – piesă care explorează influenţele Hawkwind şi Pink Floyd combinate cu un violoncel aerisit şi un pian gen John Cale, toate combinate pentru a produce un sublim „feeling” epic.
